Sessions

The Friday session will be on the upstairs floor of the Market Hall, access from Huddersfield Road in the company of Tony and Sarah who will be playing mainly English tunes. On Saturday members of the Good Egg Band will be the hosts in the Postcard from 1.00 - 5.00 pm. The Shoulder of Mutton and downstairs at Les Caveaux are also available for those who would like to go and play on Saturday afternoon and evening. Steve Noon will host the Irish Session on Sunday afternoon at the Postcard from 1.00 until it finishes! Regular sessions have now become established at the Victoria on Woodhead Road (10 mins walk from town centre) and musicians will be most welcome there all weekend.

Singarounds

Singarounds will be based in Stamps Bar under the Postcard. Ray Padgett will get things under way around 1.00 pm on Saturday, possibly with the aid of some of his Barnsley Folk Club chums. From 4.00 - 7.00 pm the regulars of the Shoulder of Mutton at Lockwood will continue with a 60s singaround which will reflect both the age and the era of the Dylanologists, Denny-m clad Fotheringporters and McTellytexters (rather than bonny light young bankers in the new-mown hay). The final stint from 7.00 - 11.00 pm will be run by Maggie and Steve Robinson who are familiar faces at local singarounds. Steve sings the odd song very well (although he is probably too modest to say so!). Maggie reads the odd poem, some of them very odd! Join them for a few beers and a singaround session of songs, tunes, and spoken words at Stamps on Saturday evening.
