Once again we can offer you an excellent dance program with dance sides from all over the north of England and beyond. We expect over 20 Morris and World dance sides to be performing over the weekend from the traditional North West dance of Rivington, and Rumworth Morris of Bolton, to the wild and wacky Bunnies From Hell (you can’t miss them, they all wear pink!) Look out for the Rappers in the pubs, and if you’re around on Sunday don’t miss the Sheffield City Giants!

World dance will be well represented with Son De America performing dances from all over South America; and Four Hundred Roses who blend folk dance with tribal belly dance and advise us to 'look out for the unexpected!' There will be workshops in French dancing, Egyptian belly dance and Salsa so bring your dancing shoes and join in! Of course there’s also the unexpected too, so stick around at night and 'Listen for the drums, look out for the flames!'

And on a topical note – Morris dancing at Holmfirth festival is definitely NOT a dying art form, and well represented by the younger age group! Look out for the energetic and vibrant Jig Crew, the Mini Maes in their black and pink, and Smutt Rapper who will be providing entertainment in the pubs. Our local schools have also built up a tradition of Morris dancing and will include the Scholes School Yorkshire Longsword dancers and Meltham Morris Minors border dance.
